Officially, this is a meeting of the SOAR site selection committee. It has been less informally captioned as astronomers at play atop the summit of Cerro Tololo. The Southern Observatory for Astrophysical Research is an international consortium to build and operate a high-performance 4-meter aperture astronomical observatory on Cerro Pachon, Chile. This is now known as the SOuthern Astrophysical Research (also SOAR) telescope.
