The "Jewel Box", NGC4755

NGC4755, an open star cluster in the constellation Crux, displays its many colors in this picture from the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory's 0.9-meter telescope. It is popularly known as the Jewel Box because an early catalog described it as a "superb piece of jewelry".
