The north central portion of the Veil Nebula in the constellation Cygnus, as seen by the Kitt Peak 4-meter Mayall telescope in 1973. This large loop of gas was ejected about 30 to 40 thousand years ago from a supernova. It is also known as the Cygnus Loop. North is to the right.
