Deadlines

Proposals for standard observing programs at all ground-based facilities coordinated by NOAO, which include the telescopes of the Gemini, CTIO, and KPNO observatories, and community-access time with private observatories can be submitted twice each year by the following deadlines.

Policies Concerning the Allocation of Telescope Time

Survey Programs

NOAO offers the opportunity to conduct major survey programs of up to 3 years duration. Up to 20% of the observing time available through NOAO may be allocated to Survey Programs.

• W.M. Keck Observatory
• MMT Observatory 6.5-m Telescope
• Anglo-Australian 3.9-m Telescope
• CHARA Interferometer at Mt. Wilson
• CTIO and KPNO

Access to NOAO facilities through HST, Chandra, Spitzer, and GLAST Programs

NOAO is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), Inc. under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
