Mission Statement
NOAO Optics and Coatings Labs (NOCL)
The NOAO Optics and Coatings Labs
(NOCL)
is part of the NOAO Engineering and Technical Services
(ETS)
which is committed to providing responsive quality technical
support for
NOAO.
The mission of NOCL is an extension of the mission of ETS, NOAO,
and its parent AURA, "To excel in providing research opportunities
at world-class facilities and to grant access based on the
scientific merits of proposed work."
To this end:
- Fabricate, assemble, test, and implement optical components
and assemblies for world-class scientific
instruments
- Fabricate and test appropriate large telescope optics
for future NOAO and collaborative programs
- Support on-going telescope and instrument programs
(coatings, filters, maintenance of optics and optical
instruments)
NOAO is operated by the
Association of
Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), Inc.
under cooperative agreement with the
National Science Foundation.
