MONSOON collaborators and Institutions using MONSOON systems

MONSOON is getting a lot of telescope time. Newfirm, which has been on the 4M telescope over 50% of the time at Kitt Peak, is now being prepared for shipment to CTIO for use on their 4M telescope. WHIRC and the Bench Spectrograph are on the telescopes a combined total of more than 50% of the time. The CTIO 1.5M Eschelle Spectrograph Detector Controller Upgrade is on the telescope. Another chip for the 1.5M Echelle is due mid 2010 for an upgrade of that project.
MONSOON systems are popular; currently being used on the WIYN telescope on Kitt Peak, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Spain's Physics for the Accelerating Universe (PAU) just to name a few. There is a new, improved, version of MONSOON, Torrent, which is in the final construction and testing stage. Once complete Torrent will go on both the MOSAIC and 1.5M Echelle. For more information on Torrent, click here.
