On January 2, 2003, the GNIRS team did a fit check of the GNIRS instrument in the shipping container. Here Chris Sillman stands by as the instrument is hooked to the crane in the Flex Rig facility.

GNIRS flies again! The instrument is lifted up over the shipping container (metal structure at lower left) while Peter Ruckle, John Andrew and Ron George keep watch.

GNIRS, with yellow handling structure still attached, is lowered into the shipping container.

The footpads of the instrument rest squarely on the supports.

The bulkhead supports fit snugly.

Side clearance is narrow, but adequate.
