8:30 — 9:00 Greet, Meet, and Eat (NOAO Main Conference Room)

9:00 — 9:05 Welcome from the Staff (Main Conference Room)

9:05 — 9:30 Demonstration on Cratering (Main Conference Room)

John Kalas, President of the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association, will demonstrate a cratering experiment. (See UAYF Activity E-1.)

9:30 — 10:50 Venus Topography Boxes (Main Conference Room & Patio)

A short video (or set of slides) on Venus will be shown to illustrate its surface. Then Nancy Lebofsky, an instructor in science education and outreach, will help us make classroom sets of "Venus Topography Boxes". (See UAYF Activity C- 7.)

10:50 — 11:00 Break

11:00 — 11:50 Demonstration using the Venus Topography Boxes (Main Conference Room)

Nancy Lebofsky will lead us in doing the activity with the "Venus Topography Boxes" (See UAYF Activity C- 7.)

11:50 — Noon Recap, Evaluation, & Giveaways (Main Conference Room)

Giveaways such as posters will be available for teachers to take to use in their classrooms. Enjoy!
