The American Indian Science and Engineering Society, (AISES)

A national, nonprofit organization which nurtures building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional Native values. They offer teacher preparation at both K-12 and college level, and career advice. They publish Winds of Change, a magazine that includes a college guide, and other resources.

The Society for Advancement of Chicano and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)

The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels. For 30 years, SACNAS has provided strong national leadership in improving and expanding opportunities for minorities in the scientific workforce and academia; mentoring college students within science, mathematics and engineering; as well as, supporting quality pre-college science education. SACNAS has compiled a large number of websites of interest to educators and students. Selections include science and math resources on line; sites for minority and female students interested in math, science and technology; professional development opportunities; and financial aid information

An organization working for honest portrayal of Native Americans in literature. The site includes books by native authors, and a list of books to avoid that includes a discussion of why they are objectionable.
