The WIYN Observatory seeks a Director who will be responsible for the overall operation of the WIYN Observatory, including its budgets, staff, and technical development.  The Director is normally appointed for a 5-year term and acts as the WIYN executive who operates under the general policies and objectives set out by the WIYN Board.  Of particular importance in the near term is to successfully bring the One Degree Imager into scientifically productive operation on the WIYN 3.5-m telescope, while also retaining other key spectroscopic and imaging capabilities.  More information regarding the WIYN Observatory and a position description for the Director is available at www.wiyn.org (see the employment button).  The Director may be employed by any of the WIYN partners, which are the University of Wisconsin, Indiana University, Yale University, and the National Optical Astronomy Observatory.  We seek a highly motivated person who has experience with complex scientific facilities, an appropriate scientific and/or management background, and leadership abilities.  Requests for information can be sent to C.
