The National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) is looking for an Electrical Engineer to be responsible for the development of new designs and upgrades, and maintenance support of existing telescopes, instrumentation, and support facilities for the Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO).

The successful candidate must be able to interact effectively with senior level engineers, scientist, and support personnel in performing these duties.

 

Position requires a minimum of a BS in electrical engineering, MS preferred, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in the related field. Must be proficient in the design and analysis of digital and analog electro/mechanical control systems, a strong background in computer applications, good trouble shooting skills, and hands on working knowledge of field and lab test equipment. The position also requires the candidate to regularly work on Kitt Peak both days and evenings at an elevation of 7000 feet.
