The National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) is looking for a Facility Engineer. This is a term limited position to support the planning, design, modernization and maintenance efforts of existing and new support facilities for the Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO). The successful candidate must be able to interact effectively with engineers, scientists, and support personnel as needed. The work will include activities at both the Tucson offices and Kitt Peak Observatory facilities. Minimum requirement: BS in civil or mechanical engineering, with experience in facility operations, water systems or a related field. Must be proficient with documentation needs for buildings and projects, have ability to research facility design needs, prepare work packages and control project expenditures and scheduling. Must have basic leadership skills, be self starter, able to direct or delegate work, provide technical direction to supporting personnel and work with subcontractors and/or consultants.
