Coordinating Travel to Chile

  1. I will be visiting Chile in the next few weeks. I would like for someone to meet me at the airport. How can I be assured that he/she knows I am coming?
  2. I am working with an NOAO employee in Chile on a project and want to have him/her visit Tucson. Is there someone within the organization I should contact and advise him/her of the Chilean's visit?

The CTIO Director's Office coordinates all travel for visiting astronomers to the AURA and tenant facilities in Chile. Such support includes advising the proper personnel in Chile that the individual is coming; forwarding the traveler's itinerary to the proper offices; and advising the proper personnel of any lodging, transportation, and/or special needs requests.

For further information on coordinating travel to Chile or to advice CTIO of a pending arrival, contact Ximena Herreros (xherreros@ctio.noao.edu).

Employees in Chile have their mail and personal packages forwarded to them on a regular basis. When they travel to Tucson, it is important that either the NOAO Shipping and Receiving Clark, Katie Arterberry, or the Manager, NOAO Procurement, Clark Enterline, be notified so he can hold their mail and packages.

Most employees in Chile are aware of these services and contact the Procurement Manager and advise him of their visit. Some new employees may not be aware of these services so it is important that the either the NOAO Shipping and Receiving Clerk or the NOAO Procurement Manager be advised of the pending visit so that the traveler can be contacted and made aware of the services provided.

For further information on coordinating travel to Tucson for Chilean employees, contact Clark Enterline, NOAO Procurement Manager (centerline@noao.edu, ext. 8176).
