Computer Room Temperature Monitor

An autodialing monitor is located in the computer room. This is used to monitor the room temperature and raise an alarm if the room gets too hot for the equipment. It will also report if clean power is lost for some reason. The following are some notes on its operation and instructions for acknowleding/silencing the alarm.

To Acknowledge an Alarm:

There are three ways to acknowledge an alarm from the monitor.

  1. Received alarm phone call

There are two important things to listen for. First the monitor ID number, this is the phone number the monitor is at, 0.9m=8637. Second is what caused the alarm, either temperature #1 (room temp) is out range, or a clean power failure. The alarm message will be repeated 3 times. Once you know these two items press 555 if you are on a touchtone phone. The unit will then respond that the alarm has been received.

Contact the Site Manager to verify the nature of the alarm.

  2. Callback Acknowledgment
