On November 24, 2003 the Mosaic guider was upgraded. The upgrade improved the stability of the guider software. Most of the improvements are transparent to the user, but control of the guider has changed slightly. The guider video window is still displayed on Moss, but the guider GUI is now controlled on Rust.
Before starting the GUI, make sure no other guider GUI is present. Use the right mouse button in the background on Rust and select Restart Guider to bring up the control software. This may take a few minutes, please be patient. This will reset the guider video window on Moss and eventually display the guider GUI on Rust.
One new feature with this guider upgrade is the ability to select your guide star with the mouse on Moss. The small box in the guider video on Moss is your cursor. To select a guide star move the mouse to position the cursor over the desired star and (left-mouse) double-click. This should act like a "Warp to Star" and move the large box around the selected star.
